The Wednesday Group Run is a casual, no-drop 5km run along the waterfront. Meet at 6pm outside the Centennial Library at Clergue Park. All are welcome, and nobody gets left behind. It’s dark when we start our run so although our route is generally well lit and off roads, please wear reflective clothing and bring a light for safety. Please sign in if you plan to join us!
The Long Slow Run is a conversationally-paced, endurance building, “Zone 2” run geared toward those who are training to run 10km or farther.
Meet at the main entrance of the John Rhodes Community Centre for 10am. We’ll start with a 10km loop which will take us into the East End and then back to the John Rhodes where we can take a break to hydrate and refuel. Additional distance is optional for anyone interested.

Join us at 10am outside the main entrance to the John Rhodes Community Centre for our first run of 2023!
On this run we’ll keep the pace easy and conversational. We’ll begin with a (roughly) 10km loop in the East end, then stop back at the community centre to fuel, hydrate, and regroup. Additional distance is optional for anyone interested!
Things were melty over Friday and Saturday but temperatures are supposed to drop a bit going into Sunday so there may be some ice. We recommend trail shoes for a bit of extra grip but additional traction devices such as YakTrax probably aren’t necessary.

The Sault Stryders Executive Committee would like to wish all of our Members and followers a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
There will be no Long Slow Run tomorrow since it is Christmas Day. Get outside for a run when you can, and enjoy some time with loved ones.
On December 26th, don’t forget to join us for our Boxing Day Run & Breakfast! We will leave from the Water Tower Inn at 9am for a 5km run/2km walk followed by breakfast back at the Water Tower. This is a perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends or buy your 2023 Sault Stryders Membership.
Tonight is the Sault Stryders Winter Solstice Run & Social Event, taking place Wednesday, December 21st at 7pm at Hiawatha Highlands. We will meet at the blue ski building prior to the run. Afterwards, there will be hot chocolate, snacks, and a cozy bonfire outside of the Kincentre. Wear reflective clothing/lights and bring a warm jacket to throw on after the run!
Please note – Due to the Solstice run, there will be no Group Run at the library downtown tonight.
Winter is no time to stop running. In fact, we have a bunch of events coming up that will help keep you inspired and motivated to keep moving.

Third, we will be joining the Bon Soo festivities this year with a 5km fun run on February 4th at 7pm from The Machine Shop. This event is still in the planning stages so stay tuned for details, but save the date in your calendar!
Finally, if you need a race to keep you motivated, The Beaver Freezer Frozen Marathon will be taking place on Saturday, March 11th. While this isn’t a Stryders event, we do fully support it and hope to see everyone there! With several distance options, there’s a race for everyone. You can also pick your own adventure, with options to run, ski, or fatbike (we’ll be running, of course).
